Assistive Technology Device Loan Program
The Assistive Technology Device Loan Program was established for individuals and service providers to borrow devices in order to assist in decision making, serve as a loaner during a device repair, to provide an accommodation on a short-term basis or for training or learning purposes.
Who Can Borrow Devices?
Persons with disabilities, family members, agency or school representatives, service providers working with persons with disabilities, AT specialists and evaluators.
How Does It Work?
Contact the DCATRC to learn whether the device(s) you require are available. Schedule an appointment to pick-up the devices. Staff will assist you in the selection of devices and also provide basic instruction and implementation ideas, if needed.
- The standard length of a device loan is four weeks
- Borrowers are liable for replacement of any device that is lost, stolen or damaged
- Borrowers and/or the person responsible for borrowed items must complete and sign the agreement form
- Borrowers are responsible for pick-up and return of all equipment
Available equipment includes:
Augmentative communication devices - Low to High Tech
Capability switches; textured, plate, tip, proximity and more
Assistive listening devices
Handheld electronic magnifiers
Compact refreshable Braille display
Adapted keyboards and mice; joystick, rollerball; bluetooth keyboards
Smart pen for notetaking
Head Mouse for hands-free computer access
iPads for trial use and app selection
Wheelchair mounts for iPad
